Consent rates are
a number you can grow
Split your traffic between dialog variants, measure real consent rates for each, and ship the winner. Compliant and optimized are not opposites: A/B testing makes them the same setup.

Why consent rates deserve testing
A few points of consent rate compound across every downstream system.
Understand visitor choices
Compare how visitors respond to your dialog designs and use the results to make informed changes.
Measurement follows consent
Analytics, conversion tracking and remarketing all key off the consent signal. Higher consent rates mean more observed data and less modeling.
Guesswork is expensive
Layout, copy, button order and color all move the number, but not always in the direction you expect. Testing replaces opinion with evidence.
How A/B testing works in Clickio
Create variants
Build two or more dialog setups in the Platform: different layouts, texts, colors, button arrangements or vendor lists.
Split traffic
Clickio serves each variant to a share of your visitors and tracks consent outcomes for each variant separately.
Ship the winner
Compare consent rates in reporting, promote the winning variant to 100% of traffic, and keep iterating.
What you can test
Layout & design
Banner vs. modal, position, colors and typography, all within the compliant design system, so every variant is a valid dialog.
See customization →Texts & framing
First-layer wording, button labels and second-layer descriptions, localized per language and tested per market.
Vendor lists
Test different TCF and Google ATP vendor lists to see how list size affects consent rates and vendor participation.
See vendor management →Frequently asked questions
Is A/B testing consent dialogs even allowed?
Testing presentation is common practice, provided every variant gives clear information, granular choices and an equally easy way to decline. Clickio variants share the same dialog mechanics, so you test presentation, not the choice itself.
What should I test first?
Start with the first layer: layout (banner vs. modal), button arrangement and headline copy typically move consent rates the most. Then iterate on second-layer texts and vendor list size.
How long does a test need to run?
Long enough to collect a meaningful number of consent decisions for each variant. Consent-rate reporting per variant, updated daily, lets you judge when the gap is stable.
Does testing affect the TC string or consent records?
No. Whatever variant a visitor sees, their choice is recorded and signaled exactly the same way: a valid TC string, Consent Mode update and consent record every time.
Which plan includes A/B testing?
A/B testing is included with Enterprise. See the plan comparison to choose the right plan.
Run your first dialog experiment with Clickio Consent Enterprise.
A/B testing is included with Enterprise, alongside the Reporting API, white label and a dedicated account manager.
