Trusted by 2,000+clients worldwide
Install on Google Tag Manager in three steps
Add the template
Install the Clickio Consent template (by ClickioTech) from the GTM Community Template Gallery, tick Enable Clickio CMP, enter your Site ID and fire it on the Consent Initialization trigger.
Let Consent Mode work
Switch Consent Mode on in your Clickio Consent settings, tick Enable Consent Mode Support in the template, and Google tags react to the consent state Clickio sets, with no per-tag wiring for GA4 and Google Ads.
Trigger the rest on events
Clickio pushes a clickio_consent_update event into the dataLayer on page load and on every consent change. Build triggers on it so non-Google tags fire only after consent.

What your site gets
A certified dialog
Google-certified, IAB TCF 2.4-validated consent: the approvals ad and analytics partners expect.
Consent Mode v2 by default
On by default for new sites: Google Analytics and Google Ads receive consent-aware signals without per-tag wiring. The Clickio tag just needs to load before your Google tags.
Consent Mode v2 →Cookie Scanner
The Cookie Scanner finds the cookies your site actually sets, including those added by themes, apps and embeds. The Free plan scans up to 20 pages twice a month; paid plans scan more pages, more often.
Cookie Scanner →Self-updating cookie policy
Embed the cookie list in your privacy page once; it stays current as your stack changes.
Cookie List Embed →Your brand, your languages
Colors and layout on every plan; custom first-layer text and several languages on one site from Starter.
Customization →EU, UK and US markets
GDPR via TCF, US state laws via GPP and per-region settings for other laws: the right dialog per visitor, configured once.
Multi-regulation →Frequently asked questions
Is there an official Clickio template for GTM?
Yes. Clickio provides a CMP tag template for Google Tag Manager, so installation is a template import rather than custom HTML.
How do consent events reach my tags?
Clickio pushes a clickio_consent_update event into the dataLayer on page load and whenever consent changes, with a clickio_cmp_data variable carrying consent for non-TCF vendors and custom purposes. You create triggers on that event and attach your marketing tags to them.
Do I still need Consent Mode configuration?
Clickio sets Consent Mode v2 signals once the template's Consent Mode option is on; in GTM you keep consent checks enabled on Google tags. GTM's Consent Overview (enabled under Admin > Container Settings) then shows which tags read the consent state.
Can I run everything, CMP included, from GTM?
Yes. The template installs the CMP itself, so a site with GTM already deployed needs no site-code changes at all.
What about tags that must never wait?
Strictly necessary functionality shouldn't be gated. Keep essential tags on standard triggers and gate only analytics and marketing categories.
Copy your tag and have a certified consent dialog running in minutes.
Install on Google Tag Manager the same way on every plan: start with a 14-day free trial, then pick the tier that matches your traffic and features.
